Phone, wallet, passport, everything else can be replaced.

Cash

Bring cash, this totally depends on what you want to be doing, obviously. During the stay at Casa Rubia it is ‘all inclusive’ but you will still need some cash for miscellaneous things along the way obviously. A meal can be had in the street for 20 pesos, about $1.50, but realistically budgeting $10-15 will get you a meal and a drink anywhere you want. A taxi to town might cost you 100 pesos, within town, 40, max. Motorcycles, souvenirs, bribes for the police, “entertainment” you can decide your own budget on that stuff. USD can be used for bigger purchases, but just get pesos.

Your bank, or the Vancouver Bullion and Currency Exchange are the two best bets IMO.

Once in Mexico almost all ATMS will work, but the fees very wildly, as does the amount you can withdraw. The best options are at the Super Chedraui (supermarket).

Sunscreen

This might sound dumb, but the stuff is fairly expensive and harder to come by than you would think.

Insurance

Get travel insurance, it is a must. The private healthcare is great, but expensive. Even if you have coverage through work, it is likely worth the peace of mind to over insure and grab a BCAA policy. Shane has tested it, twice, they paid the hospital directly.

Medication

If you require daily medication, obviously bring that, we will however be providing the usual medicine cabinet things; Imodium, Advil, Gravol, and the like.

Clothing

For the wedding we will call it fancy beach party. Wear whatever you think you should wear to a classy evening on the beach. If you wear a tux or heels you are pretty dumb. But then again, you can always go barefoot and having layers might be nice later in the evening. For those staying on the property, you will obvs have access to your rooms, and for those staying off site we will have a spot for you to change. So you should bring an outfit change if you are the type to do that, and defo bring a bathing suit for a late night swim, in the pool.

Puerto Escondido, its a beach so bring beach clothes. No need for a towel at the houses, they can also be bought super cheap in town, so I would save the luggage space.

Mexico City, although I would not describe it as cold, its cooler. Average temp in Feb this year was about 20 Celsius. You may also want a pair of dressier shoes, if you plan on attending a fine dining spot.

Gifts

We do not need any gifts, but if you insist, cash is nice.
